Okay, let’s go straight to the tips on how to care for your non-stick pan. Is actually as easy as 1, 2, 3 & 4. Yes! Up to 4, that’s all you need to remember.

1. Do Not Cook on High Heat
Do not use over high heat as it will damage the non-stick surface and reduce the performance of non-stick when cooking. It will also burn your food, so keep the temperature low to mid and have perfectly cooked food that is not burnt. Especially Asian cooking, there are lots of sauces, acidic sauces, such as soy sauce, black soy sauce, vinegar, asam, tomatoes, chillies, sambal, etc..all these, will result in tarnishing the non-stick effect should we overheat the pan with these sauces. So by keeping the temperature low, this will also reduce the amount of food residue that you have to clean off afterwards.

2. Do Not Use Metal Utensils / Spatula
I guessed as much, everyone knows that when it comes to non-stick pan, do not use metal utensils or spatula. However, many is trying their luck by doing the odd or just for convenient sake, thinking once a while by using metal is okay. Though a non-stick pan is affordable to own, but it will do good to take care of it so it can last longer and worth your buy. It may sound obvious, but do not use metal utensils when cooking in your non-stick pan, and definitely do not cut anything with a knife in the pan. Once you scratch the surface, it’s the beginning of the end. We suggest that you use plastic heat-proof utensils, such as silicone, nylon or wooden spatula.

3. Proper way to clean
Always wait for the pan to cool before letting it come into contact with cold water. Submerging a non-stick hot pan in cold water or even running cool water tap water over hot non-stick cookware is the fastest way to warp the pan.

Alternately, you may pour a cup of hot water onto the hot pan to rinse off the food residue/oil so it won’t stay stick to the pan causing it to leave stain on the pan. This is best to do when you find your pan start to stick, as mentioned, pour in hot water, but this time, to let it simmer for mayb 3-4 mins, this to ease out all the food residue that stick on the pan.

For washing, use only light dishwash soap with soft sponge or cleaning cloth. Do not use steel wool or other harsh, abrasive cleaning materials to wash your non-stick pan.

4. Proper way to store
It is important not to store your pan where it will resulting in scratching the non-stick surface. When nesting non-stick pans, please do ensure a piece of kitchen towel or napkin, or even bubble wrap between each pan to avoid the bottom of the one pan scratching the coating of the other.

Alternatively, you can hang your frypan or saucepan.

With the above guidelines, we do hope it will helps in preserving your non-stick cookware longer lifespan. These tips work across the full range of non-stick pots and pans that we offered and it will definitely save you money in the long run and improve the quality of your cooking.
